Fishing Report - Winter steelhead has been a bit tough

The fall and winter so far has been a heck of a ride. High water, cold water, dirty and ice flows have been the flavor all fall and into the winter so far.
For myself personally the swing bite was very tough so I finally broke down on this outing and grabbed the nymph stock and stuck a few!
The guys out there nymphing, pinning and bait fishing are doing a bit of business but I will say there is nothing outstanding going on here in the south central part of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The object right now regardless of your style is low and slow.
As of right now because of some warm temps the waters are a bit high and there are some ice flows so be safe and keep your eyes open.
