Water temperatures are dropping and the days are getting cooler! What does this mean.........
Its time to get out and start fly fishing for kings, steelhead and lake-run browns! With the temps dropping across the board and water levels rising the big fish of the lake are starting to push in for serious fly fishing action! This is an absolutely great time of the year to swing a BIG fly to some ultra hot fish and if swing is not your thing with all the spawning fish kicking up the gravel and river bottom the nymph game will be on fire as well!
Lets remember though Upper Michigan trout season is not yet over as the streamer bite is on as the fish have the feed bag on to prep for winter and when our proverbial Indian summer kicks in you will still be able to find a hatch of both caddis and bwos!
Below are a few of the flys I use for the very low light conditions that I use. They carry a big profile that big hot fish love to thrash on!
