The fall season never ceases to amaze and the beauty of God's creation on full display. It's been an incredible couple weeks both with fish, friends, great guide trips, and scenery.
We had a chance to host a fantastic trout camp with some fishy dudes from all over the state. The weather cooperated and so did the fish. The fish were keyed in on streamers (D&Ds, Buggers, etc) and we had a blast chucking and stripping for some really handsome fish. I had to really slow down the retrieve and work upstream more to get consistent takes. There have also been some mild BWO hatches that are just enough to get the fish looking up for an hour, seemed like mostly the rainbows had interest in the surface. Small green klinkhammers seemed be the ticket.
Also had a couple great guide trips. Getting to introduce fly fishing to folks is the best and seeing them develop some basic casting skills and then catching some fish over the course of a couple hours is always a treat. For some reason couldn't get the streamer bite going so we nymphed and included some egg patterns which did the trick.
